EDITTEXT exits command after editing one MULTILINETEXT

In AutoCAD 2014 I was able to type "ED" (my alias for EDITTEXT), hit enter, and the command would stay active untile I hit enter again.  I could fix a mutliline string, or single string, and click outside of the parameters of the text while still being in the EDITTEXT command.  In 2015 it exits the command after every string I type in.  Is there a default/option I can change to fix this?

2015 introduced a new command, explained in HELP: DDEDIT command has been retired (there is no EDITTEXT command in any AutoCAD version), TEXTEDIT command is the new one. It does not work like the old one, nothing you can do about it at the moment except to write a little LISP to replace your typed "ED" comand shortcut with the new command in a loop so that it repeats itself.

Need help wirting the LISP?

Thanks pendean!  I took a LISP writing class last year, so I think I'll try and tackle it.  I'll hop back on here if I can't get it.
