EATTEXT error

I use EATTEXT often and for the most part, it works quite reliably. This current job I am working on however doesn't want to play nice with the command.

My usual routine is to create a new data extraction, assigne a .DXE name, set the current drawing as the data source, Select objects/attibutes for the data source, sort the columns that I want, set my output options which include inserting the data extraction table into the drawing and creating a XLS file, set the table style and I usually do nothing here, click to finish extraction.  At this point I ordinarily get the table attached to the cursor and I drop it somewhere in the drawing.  What is happening instead is the drawing blinks and there is no data table at my cursor.  When I check the XLS file all it contains is the words "Delete Me" in the first cell and has none of my data.

Anyone have an idea what is going on here?

try with the CSV option instead of XLS.
