Copy to Clipboard bungled up

Hi,

Just installed 2013 (part of building design suite), at the architecture firm I work at.  64 bit, Windows 7. 16gb ram

When copying, via the ctrl+C command, the machine slows down, and when I paste, something else is pasted. (other than what I copied).

I read a few forums.  I've removed sketchbook, I've audited, purged and danced, too.

How do I fix this most basic of functions?
