Command Window - What is this "find" box?

I have one user whose Command Window has this weird "find" box in it...I have no clue what this stupid this is or how to get rid of it.

commandwindowfind.jpg

In the pic it's the bar just above the word "Building". You can't type in the dark green "edit" box...that just shows up at the bottom line. Clicking the black down on the right of the edit box brings up the popup menu. Clicking the left/right arrows on the right of the edit box supposedly finds the next or previous word but it doesn't find anything; a dialog pops up that says basically it searched the whole doc and couldn't find anything. And all the way to the right is zoom bar that "zooms" the size of the text in the command window itself.

What the $@%& is this stupid thing and how does one go about removing this "improvement" to the command line?

Thanks,

Josh

What version of what product are you using?

Looks like a 3rd party add-on maybe?

*facepalm*....I haven't posted in a while so I forgot some of the basics...

It's up-to-date Civil 3D 2013. User says he hasn't installed anything and the problem just randomly started this morning.

C3D forum folks might know what that is, here in R2013 I can't find anything that looks like an undocked commandline with a plus-minus button and side arrows. http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Civil-3D-General/bd-p/66

Never seen anything like that here either in any version of C3D.
I'll be interested to see what this turns out to be.

Might be time for the OP to reset that User's AutoCAD and get back to an OOTB configuration like the rest of us have.

Hello

I am not at all a CIVIL specialist : just a User level 0.5 ...

But with CIVIL 2010/2011/2012/2013/2014, I have never seen this strange thing !

Well, apparently, it resolved itself this morning. It's just not there anymore. The user had performed a couple of reboots when it first appeared but those didn't resolve it. I really wanted to find the cause so I could prevent or solve it in the future. Oh well.

Thanks for reading my post. I will update if the silly thing ever comes back.

Thanks,

Josh
