Hi,

Please look also here:

Maybe you will be able to remove datalink with Lisp?

Maxim

Explode the table, then delete / detach datalink.

Done.

Delete or change the name of the data link file > copy and paste this into the command line

(dictremove (namedobjdict) "ACAD_DATALINK")

Save>Close>Reopen the drawing

This works on AutoCAD Architecture 2018, but it wasn't this simple on older versions.

Thanks Kate! I love it when people take time to post the Simple Easy Fix.

Command: datalink <ENTER>

Right-Click the "datalink" you want to remove

Click "Delete"

Thanks again,

(This process worked for AutoCAD Architecture 2018...it's probably worth a shot)

Data Links must be disconnected from the tables in the DWG, before they can be removed.

1.) Click in any CELL of the table with the datalink associate to it

1-click_table_cell.jpg

2.) Right-click on table, and select "Data Links">"Detach Data Links"

2-right-click_table.jpg

3.) Click <Yes> to detach the link from the table

3-Click_YES.jpg

4.) Click Out of the table to avoid changing the text

5.) On the Command line, type DATALINK to open the "Data Link Manager"

6.) Right-click the datalink you want to remove

6-Right-click_datalink.jpg

7.) Click <Yes>

*NOTE: If you cannot find the table that is connected to the data link you wish to remove, remember to check your "Frozen" layers and the layers that may be turned "Off". Otherwise, a "PURGE" may do the trick.

I hope this is helpful.

It worked for me too.

The table link could be a nightmare, when we forget some steps.

Thank you.

Using above method works, but this deletes all data-links. Is there a way to delete the data link giving its name?

Thank you! The command you posted worked great. I've been scratching my head how to delete data links for a very long time (literally months). Thanks again.

Experienced the same problem.  Solved it invoking DATALINK command and deleting Excel Links from the Links List.
