Cannot format text - ribbon disabled

Hi

I got a large numeber of drawings where text is almost uneditable - probably because it is made in an earlier AutoCAd version. I can double click and replace text but not edit/format it - the whole ribbon is inaaccessible (an "access denied sign shows when I hover/click over ribbon area". If I copy and paste the text, it is suddenly possible to edit, format and do whatever I want. trouble is that there is A LOT of text and it would take ages to do it manually.

The text is displayed wrongly, as show on the attached figure. I want to be able to use nordic letters å,ø,æ and be able to change size, font and so. On the attached figure "Måler" is displayed as "Moler". Is there a way to convert all the text so it is formatable?

Thanks in advance

Where can I see it?.

I am not sure if it helps but It says DDEDIT down in the command window when I select text I want to format.

I have, however, found a partial solution:

- Select all text fields

- Right click propreties

- Scroll down to text

- Change style from what it says (mine says ISO) to something else. ÅØÆ are now displayed correctly.

- One can also change height in the same window

But as to why my ribbon gets disabled or why text editor is not showing I still have no clue. :/

I hope you have an answer for that.
