Can't run Autocad because the The Side-by-Side configuration contains errors

Hello

Just after installing Autocad 2014, I tred to launch the app without success. Instead, appear this error message "The Side-by-Side configuration information for "c:\program files\autodesk\autocad 2014\ACAD.EXE" contains errors."

I tried to uninstall the application, et re-install it, tried to suppress many version of Microsoft visual C++ 20xx redistribuable (an re_install them), but it did'nt change anything.

To get some more information, I tried Dependency Walker and get this :

API-MS-WIN-APPMODEL-RUNTIME-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ERROR-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ROBUFFER-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-STRING-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-SHCORE-SCALING-L1-1-1.DLL
DCOMP.DLL
IESHIMS.DLL
REGISTERTODAY.DLL

Can someboy help me?

Ok, I fixed it with an -f*** all this sh*t- solution :

The problem came from a conflict with different version of Microsoft visual C++ 20xx redistribuable.

So the solution was to:

  • uninstall all of it (no exception),
  • uninstall Autocad,
  • suppress all files in C:\Users\yyyyy\AppData\Local\Autodesk & C:\Users\yyyyy\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk,
  • run CCleaner and clean register base,
  • and finally, re-install Autocad.

After that, using Windows Update to patch microsoft visual c++ 2010 didn't create any problem, and everythings work fine.

There was maybe a finest solution, but as it work, I recommend to do it if someone encounter the same issue.
