I'm experiencing a bug in AutoCAD 2014 where the extract command will not extract from the drawings listed in the dialog. It seems to instead extract from the first open drawing. At the moment, my solution is to open and extract each drawing in turn, and only that drawing, but the point of the command is to be able to do a group of drawings, so it's somewhat inconvenient.
I'm able to consistently reproduce this bug with different drawings on different projects, let me know if any further information is needed.
Try this experiment. Do the extraction from a separate drawing. Do not extract from the open drawing. Close all the drawings to be extracted from. That works for me. Then I use the datalink for inserting the extraction table or xattach the drawing that has the extraction table.
