Installed both 2014 Vanilla and Architecture 64 bit on Windows 7.
Intel DH67BL_ 4 core
16 GB RAM
NVIDIA Ge Force 210
Should there be a problem using the same drawings between Vanilla and Acad A?
I get alot of "fatal errors". More than I have ever seen before. And do not know what is causing it.
Also in both versions I always get messages of "file is write protected" and another message (see attached) when I qsave.
Anybody else having these issues??
Any hot fixes???
Thanks for any help.
The error dialog box you posted happens when AutoCAD can write the tmp file but cannot overwrite the existing DWG file. The part you have to figure out is what has a write-lock (and how/why)on the DWG file after you open it in AutoCAD.
I have seen this a lot when there are network issues (bad switch, bad cable, non-Windows server, etc). Did anything change in your network architecture/components recently?
See the link below to FIRST understand what happens when you save an AutoCAD drawing, then use that to debug from there.
nothing in terms of our network changed.
The problem started when I went from r13 to r14.
I did not have this problem with r13.
