Autocad 2014 crashes when in 3d modeling

I have a Dell Latitude E6250 running Windows 7 Pro, Intel Core i7 -2760QM @ 2.4GHz, 2401 MHz, 4 core processor. Running 64 bit with 8GBs of memory.
Now that you have the specs for my machine, here's the issue. I'm trying to 3D a stage drawing. I've done this before but not to this scale. The overall file size is 19MB. I've read that the system I have does meet(?) the min. requirements. The screen goes white and says the system has a problem than shuts down the autocad program. Any thoughts? Normally I don't do a full 3d rendering of the entire set but I need to answer a question that can be answered with a 3D model.

Hello

Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD Forums !

With 3D medium models, 8 Gb is not enough !

But a few other ideas :

1) Please open your DWG in RECOVER Mode

2) PURGE + PURGE ...

3) Go back to Model Space if necessary

4) CANNOSCALE = 1:1

5) SCALELISTEDIT and erase all posible Scales except the "famous" 1:1

6) ReSave the DWG ...

7) Have you installed the SP1 for ACAD 2014 ?

😎 Which graphic card ?

If ATI or NVidia, have you installed the latest driver ?

Reboot ...

Now close all unnecessary Windows Application ... Kill all unnecessary Windows Tasks ... ONLY ACAD.exe will run ...

Relaunch ACAD ... ReTest ...

Waiting ...

Are you using xrefs?

Same question but with blocks.  Between XREFs and blocks its possible to greatly reduce the size of a model.

Normally, I don't 3D an entire set but this time I'd thought I would. Clearly 8Gb isn't enough, but this computer max is 8Gb.
Running with Windows 7, with SP1 and all updates. I have NVidia and driver is up to date.
I usually disable all extra features and programs, including wifi.

Usually I only use blocks when I'm using the same object multiple times. I have 30 completely different objects, I can easily block them all.
And I have no XRef. in the file. And yes the file is almost 20MB.

I will try all your posted suggestions.
If it can't be done, it's not a huge deal, just means I get a computer with a bit more power.
