Autocad 2013 Locks up in "Page Setup Manager"

System Autocad 2013 on PC 32bit

Our company as a .ctb file that has been in use for some time.  I have upgraded to 2013 and now...

When I open up old files that contain sheets and page setup.

If I attempt to "Modify" or "Create New" Page setup "Page Setup Manager" goes into lock down and freezes everything.

I am unable to change the setup to re-assign the proper .ctb.

I checked with a new document and I am able to access and use the right .ctb.

This is duplicated on everyone of the machines in our office that has 2013 running on PC.

The one machine with Autocad for Mac 2013 works just fine.

Help... right now we out of four computer, we only have one computer running 2008 that do any printing or PDF'ing.

I am at a loss for what to do?

I tried changing the .CTB to an .STB, with no success. Changing the color space does not appear to help any.

Is there a problem with my .ctb file that makes it not compatible with 2013?

Warren

Hi,

welcome @forums.autodesk.com !

I don't think that this CTB is the source of the problem, more than that I think you also copied the PC3 files (or at least you configured AutoCAD 2013 to access your "old" PC3-files). if I'm right with that move the old PC3-files away from the configured directory for plotter-configs and see if it's working now.

Good luck, - alfred -

Thanks... that is a good observation. And I had high hopes because in fact you are correct we did not migrate the .PC3 files.

But, alas.... it was but a small victory. I still have the same problem. The .ctb, .stb, .PC3 files match exactly. And still the Page Setup manager turns into the never ending coffee break.

The only thing that I see different is that the path of the older Plot Styles is ..../Plot Style....

while in 2013 the /Plot Style folder in inbeded inside of the /Plotters/Plot Styles... folder.

Is that correct. It must be when I run STYLESMANAGER it finds them right away.

AHHH.... SO.... .CLOSE.....

Hi Warren,

What if you will try to reset Plot device name to "None" for Layout you want to change Page setup?

Try to use attached LISP routine (after you load it call RESETPLOTDEVICE command) - it should reset the name of Plot device stored in drawing for current Layout to "None". Then try to modify current page setup with Page Setup Manager.

Does it work?

(I compressed attached LSP with ZIP, so uncompress it before using)

Thank you maxim_k,

I loaded the LSP and it did remove my plotters. But, I'm still having the same problem. It locks up when I do to try to modify or create a new page setup.

This is frustrating?!

Is there anyway to reset all the page setups or clear them out to start from fresh?

Perhaps starting over will do the trick?

Hi,

As far as I remember you have such kind of troubles with a little number of
drawings.
Are you able to use Page Setup manager with new drawings?
What if you delete all objects in a problem drawing and try to modify Page
Setup? Is the problem still there?
If so- could you attach an example drawing with such behavior? You can wipe
out all objects in it before attaching.
