AutoCAD and Windows 8

I recently got a new laptop for my school work. It has windows 8 and I thought nothing of it. I have tried to install AutoCAD twice now and it has failed each time. According to the support page AutoCAD won't actually work under windows 8.

I really don't want to have to play $300 for windows 7 to downgrade just to use AutoCAD. Is there anything we can do to get around this?

Hello

Win 8 is not supported by any ACAD version !

You will have to wait for Release 2014 ...

I loaded 2012 on Windows 8 with no problems so your problem may not be with the OS or AutoCAD but other things like you have AutoCAD 32gb and the OS is 64, virus protection is in the way, etc.
