Is it true that AutoCAD 2014 Classic workspace (toolbars+dropdown menus) is GONE?

I'm sure we'll find out when everyone else does.  Anyone who knows now would be violating a non disclosure agreement to reveal 2014 features or lack therof.

It would not surprise me if that is true, since the classic workspace has disappeared from all the vertical versions for the last few versions and is non-existent on the MAC platform.
But like the post above noted, reliability of that news this early on is suspect.

Drop down menus, I wouldn't miss a bit.

Toolbars are another story. I still use them. I suppose I could migrate those though.

In order that the toolbar and migrated ribbon to look alike, Autodesk should provide additional settings for the ribbon:

- text for icons = ON/OFF;

- small icons = ON/OFF;

- and, the most important: show icons on 1, 2, or 3 rows (ribbon has maximum of 3).

So, in order to have the ribbon to look like a toolbar, you will have to choose:

- text for icons = OFF;

- small icons = OFF;

- show icons on 1 row.

It would be very surprising if we'd lose the ability to create custom toolbars in future releases.  So even if you couldn't migrate them you'd be able to recreate.

Would be a hassle tho'.

We'll find out in a few days/weeks when it's released.

I think I heard that rumor in a seminar last year...  I quickly started practicing the ribbon stuff:smileyhappy:

My guess (and hope for now) is that they would give us a heads-up by say, placing toolbars under the "Legacy" folder witin the CUI editor.  This would be the wink-wink, nudge-nudge some of us need.  Based on previous experience, Autodesk has been pretty decent about this.  Guess we'll see on the 28th
