My AutoCAD will not allow me to open my recently used file. It keeps coming up with a message saying:
'Drawing File is not Valid'
Please help me to overcome this problem.
first create a backup from your BAK-file (and rename it to .DWG, with a little bit luck it's a valid drawing from your last save-command.
Then you can start AutoCAD (with an empty drawing), start command _RECOVER and show your defect file to get repaired.
If that does not work, you can try command _DRAWINGRECOVERY, that brings up the recover-manager with drawings recognized by autosave when AutoCAD crahsed. If you find your drawing in the list you (hopefully) find the SV$-file (that's created by autosave), double click it to open it.
If that does not help, use your BAK, if that also fails you have to restore the file from your last backup.
Good luck, - alfred -
