All links broken

Hi, what happened to this website and all the old links.

Suddenly, our links do not work anymore. Please note that there is many and many hours and money invest to search solutions for our customers.

And i am not talking about those solutions that we will need to research again.

I did'nt test all of my links but each one i tested won't work.

Meanwhile, can you help me and point me to the solution of this old thread:

This is normal, this is the point of my post, all old links pointing on the Autodesk Forum are broken.

This link is 1 week old.

Thanks

They changed all the time, I often have to google the problem then it leads me back to autodesk new pages.

I think our time and our money should be considered when they change their website.

Old links should have a redirector to the new site.

For what it's worth (probably not much), I agree with you.  It's frustrating.

Not sure about you, but I'm not paid to be here.  🙂

But for those of us who are getting paid to be here, we should all be pleased that it now takes longer to find things, because that means we're now getting paid more to be here.  We just got a raise! Smiley Surprised

So, you've based your business model around a free website that is populated (for the most part) with information provided by anonymous strangers?  Some of whom are grumpy jerks that act as if they are too good to be posting here?  What if Autodesk decides to pull the plug on the forums?  I bet they have something in their TOS that says that they own everything that you post here as well.  Sounds like too many eggs in one basket...

This is all fine discussion, but the wrong place for it.

Comments, complaints, suggestions or praise for the new Community setup should be posted here:

where the people who can do anything to help you will see your thoughts.

I'm not the OP.  He's the one complaining about the forum, not me.

@cbenner,

I'm not sure that that forum would be any better a place than this for the discussion.  It is a much wider disruption than just the community forums.  Autodesk's entire url structure has changed so that bookmarks and internet searches no longer work.  It has affected links to many software product help files over many years, such as 3ds Max, AutoCAD, and others.  Even links that work 2 weeks ago bounce to that single page.

The net effect is that many internet searches for autodesk help files return nearly useless results.
