AUTOCAD 2014 3D solid geometry data export to excel

Hi There,

Can someone please help?

I need to export Geometry Data (in properties) X,Y,Z coordinates/points from a Sold 3D object into Excel (csv.file) I have tried data extraction (EATTEXT) but it doesn’t pick the points up unless I add points manually. Please see image attached.

Hi CADArmor

Not sure if this is possible, using plain CAD.

Try posting the question in http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Visual-LISP-AutoLISP-and-General/bd-p/130.

Lots of clever people over that way..

A simple box? Explode it first.

I tried exploding the box. It doesn't work. Does anyone know if there is a LISP to do this?

How are you proposing to represent the information in Excel?  A simple list of points cannot convey whether the shape is a box or another shape.  In a more simple example, think of 4 points in 2D.  They could describe a square, or a bow-tie shape, or a circle.  It gets even more complex in 3D.

If I add 4 points to each corners of the cube manually I can export those xyz coordinates into an excel spread sheet. I will then use those xyz coordinates and input them into a gas detection mapping software. The software can only read coordinates. I am looking for a short cut to extract 3D points in space from an object in Autocad.
