2015 ACAD.PGP short keys

Hi,

2015 ACAD.pgp has F assigned for the fillet command. I have always used f for fillet command.

Now when I type F I get "Files" discontinued command.

Does anybody know a fix?

Cheers

So based on what you have said, AutoCAD is not reading the PGP file, or it's being overwritten with autolisp defined functions.

So is this a fresh new install, or has someone been fooling around with the PGP files?

Paste the following to the command line. This will open the PGP file that AutoCAD is currently reading.

(startapp "notepad" (findfile "acad.pgp"))

Installed 2 weeks ago. Just transitioning from 2013

I am the only user and I checked the PGP file.

There is no FILES command, now or in previous versions of AutoCAD, so a LISP or add-on or other customization you are loading has hijacked the F definition from the PGP file and is using it for something else.

So... did you "migrate" anything from your old 2013 setup?
Find a cool lisp somewhere you now use?
load up some old classic add-on?

When I type Files I get Discontinued Command

When I type Square Box I get unknown Command "Squarebox"

So I'm guessing at sometime it was???????

Anyways I work in MEP.

When I type F the first command in the "Suggestion menu" is Files.

When I work in Straight AutoCAD the first command I get in the "Suggestion menu" is F (Fillet)

Found the Problem

On the Command line "Suggestion menu" right click and uncheck Autocomplete

But why "Files" for one discipline and "Fillet" for another discipline???

Ha! R9DOS but now that I see the pop-up it does look familiar.

Each profile (MEP vs AutoCAD vs ???) you have references a separate set of PGP files most likely.

Dean,

I checked both PGP files and they are the same.

F for Fillet

they both call up the files and Fillet commands in the suggestion menu but in reverse order. When Autocomplete is turned on.

But there is something definitly weird going on with the F key!!!!

RK's first post is key to a fix: PGP settings are ignored if there is a Lisp or add-on or core vertical function that uses the F definition for something else.

Think of the PGP as that absolute last thing AutoCAD relies on if nothing else wants that shortcut that you type.

So if it bugs you that much, create a startup LISP using F to call whatever you desire (go ahead and set it to use your default preferred settings while you're at it). Also, since you identified that you use MEP, it might be worth posting in that MEP forum and ask your peers if they can replicate the issue and how they fix it (if they can).

Dean,

the F key has not been redefined, assigned or in any other way tampered with other than what the PGP file has defined it.

It was the Autocomplete which was the problem.

When pushing the F key the Suggestion  box was calling up the "Files" command first in MEP

but It was calling up the Fillet command in Straight AutoCAD

When Autocomplete is turned off it lets me enter F and then hit return during the delay and then returns the Fillet command

The wierd thing I was talking about is (This is MEP)

Enter A suggestion box calls up ARC

Enter B suggestion box calls up BLOCK

Enter C Suggestion box calls up CIRCLE

and so on

But enter F and the suggstion box calls up a random command and it's different assigned command for different Dwgs.

But as I said if hit the F key then hit enter straight away i get my fillet command. So I can live with that 🙂

There's a list used to cache the auto-complete lookup values, which is different between the two programs.  So its entirely possible for one to be giving different results from the other.
