    Where is DSVIEWER?

I tried the AutoCAD 2012 as soon as I got the news and download, but quickly I found there is something I used frequently before is gone now. the DSVIEWER command, which also known as areial view, so I can view large drawing on dual monitor.

I also confirmed it on worldcadaccess.com, he mentioned about it.

why did you guys eliminate this useful things? any reason? or alternative method?

It will be interesting to have Autodesk answer on that, because it was a useful feature.

Dead and gone. As is BLIPMODE and the DOS-carrry-over side menu.

I think the OP knows it's gone. The question was WHY?  :smileywink:

I haven't received mine yet, but I have to know...Did they do away with the pulldown menus?? I sure hope not. I guess I'll have to get used to the ribbon if they did....

Pull-downs are still there, but I doubt they were updated....

Never been a fan of the Ribbon, but the majority of that was because it was so slow - well, that has been fixed in 2012.

Fortunately, I still key in about 90% of everything so I can tolerate the Ribbon - because someday the pull-downs and toolbars may go the way of the screen menu....

Thanks rkmcswain. I don't care if they aren't updated, just as long as I still have the option of using them. I am looking forward to trying the new "faster" ribbon. I'm used to the Revit ribbon, 'cause that's how I learned it.

Dean, if you don't know the answer, please don't make something up, state it as fact and hope it's right. It's really not a good look.

They're deprecated and hidden, but still all there. They just need a little digging to unearth:

    REDEFINE DSVIEWER

    DSVIEWER

    REDEFINE SCREENMENU

    SCREENMENU 1

    REDEFINE BLIPMODE

    BLIPMODE 1

How many releases they remain there is anybody's guess.

I did not realize they were just undefined: thanks for the info, delivered with your emaculate charm as usual :smileyhappy:
