    Selection order

    Hi all,

    Apologies for the brain fade...

What is the variable that controls the order in which objects are selected? In other words, I want to be able to always select the last object created by default when objects are overlapping without using object cycling...

    Thanks

Not sure about a variable or a default setting, but what about using a Select option.  When prompted to Select Objects enter L for Last to select the last item, or use other selection options as needed.  See following Select documentation:

    SELECT

    Thanks for your reply.

That's not really what I'm after.

Until a day ago, if I drew say two overlapping lines. Clicking on the lines would automatically highlight (select) the last one drawn. This is very handy as most often you are working with the last object created. I'm sure there is a variable that controls this behaviour, but I just can't find it at the moment.

Using command line prompts does not work since the object you are after is not always the last, or previous ... object created. Cycling through these objects is the only way to isolate which one you want, but this can be tedious if you have to do it all the time...

So are we maybe talking about the SELECTIONCYCLING variable set to 1?
