I have Digitizer Tablet and it has worked very well with my XP 32bit computer for many years. I downloaded the new Autocad 2011 Win 30 day trial and installed it. I configured the tablet with the WinTab 3.2 driver, the way that I did in version 2010 and everything seemed to work fine untill I exited Autocad, and now it gaves me an error message every time I exit. But if I configure it back as a standard mouse, it works OK but no tablet support. Have they changed the driver for Autocad 2011 or do they not support tablets anymore? I noticed that there is no longer have a tablet menu drawing in the sample drawings anymore.

Hello,
Thanks for posting the Autodesk AutoCAD 2011 News Group. We are looking
into the issue with the tablet, but from what we can tell, the error will
not cause any issues. Also if you get the CER dialog, please fill it out
and send it in. That way we can track what may be going and try to fix it.
I believe the sample files are online, but I'm not sure. You can use the
tablet drawing from AutoCAD 2010.
Thanks again for posting to the News Groups and hope this helps.

I'm having the same problems. (I wish there was an easier way than the digitizer). This is what one of the people at Autodesk emailed me.
Hi ____,
This is a known problem when you are configured to use a WinTab driver. The good news is that the crash happens after all drawing files have been removed from memory so there will be no data loss. The bad news is that this will happen every time you exit the product. At this time there's no update available to address this issue.
Regards,
I guess that's that. I hope they come out with a fix soon, this is getting annoying deleting error logs every time I exit autocad.

While this is not a fix, just thought I'd mention that if I fire up
AutoCAD 2010 and then 2011, quit 2011 I do not get the error.
More of FYI than anything else.

We have been running AutoCAD Architecture 2009 with a summasketch 3, with the virtual tablet manage interface program, and it works perfectly.
Now we have installed 2011 Architecture, but cannot load the tablet menus, the tablet puck points and buttons work.
Does anyone know how to load the tablet menus?
Thank you,
Maurice

You have to transfer them from an old mnu or cui file that actually had
them.
ACA, and ADT before that, never had the tablet menus and buttons in the CUI
or MNU/MNS file. If you had them, then like me, someone added them in
through the CUI editor Transfer tab after installing ACA.
If you let it "migrate" during installation over the years, it could have
gotten into your last menu that way from the last version that actually
still had the tablet menu.
What I did was copy the whole tablet and buttons section out of the ACAD.CUI
(which still has it in the "Legacy" group) into the ACA.CUI under the same
"Legacy" group. Although I have to warn you that there is an error in
tablet area 2 of the ACAD.CUI, the 8th row (row Q on the tablet grid) where
a space is missing that throws off the rest of the tablet buttons to the
last row of area 2. It's not a big deal because it's just the last two rows
of that menu section, but it's been there since the first CUI use in 2006.
But ever since, I simply transferred the corrected menu from the previous
release. I know 2010 acad.cui was still wrong, but haven't looked at
2011's acad.cui to see if it's still wrong.
I had to do this going back to ADT 2004 (still using the MNU/MNS files).
Before that, our office used Arch-T which was loaded on top of vanilla Acad,
so that wasn't an issue.

Thank you Joel,
We transferred the tablet menus from the 2009 Legacy files, and after loading the menus it works perfectly.
Thanks also to our AutoCAD dealer rep Scott, for help with loading the menus.
A drafting and design with a tablet is blazing fast, only a keyboard comes close (since you can also operate without looking for every command icon etc.) With the tablet I can enter several commands per second. It also does not have the any of the quirks of even the best laser optical mouse, all the entries are 100% positive.
Anyone looking for speed & accuracy, I highly recommend using a tablet.

Hey, Bud.
Is there any movement on this? I have the same "error on closing" issue
using ACA 2011 running on XP 64-bit using the Vtablet driver. The only
issue with this error is that it's aggrevating as heck having to go through
this every day. And I do let it send the error reports every time. So, I'm
sure someone over there is getting them.
Thanks.

Hello Joel,
Thanks for the update. We are still researching this. I can tell you that
it will not cause any issues except for the annoying part.
Wish I had more for you and thanks for checking back.

One workaround is to keep another session open. When
exiting the working session the error does not appear,
for whatever reason.
This workaround does have a side effect. I often find that
when working with multiple sessions and using one of the
puck buttons the command will fire in the non-current session.
This behavior is present even if there is no drawing open in
the second session! Switching to the second session and back
to the working session the puck buttons behave, for a while
at least.
