    I recently installed Autocad 2010 on a new computer and I'm having a few issues. When i was asked if i wanted to migrate settings i had choosen Autocad 2008 thinking it would migrate my lisps and other useful settings but instead I think it migrated some system variable settings. I like to use the new x-ref tool pallete since I can attach pdf/dwf and other image files rather than do the pdfattach command and other commands like that. When i do x-ref on this new computer the older xref dialogue box and I'm not sure how to fix this issue. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate the help.

    Go to command alias editor or open ACAD.PGPand remove where it said CLASSICXREF

    it should use the new XREF dialog box.

    I tried changing the aliases both ways but neither one works. still brings up the old xref dialogbox. I'm attaching pictures of both dialog boxes to see if anyone has come across this before.

    I tried that but still didn't work. I'm thinking that some system variable that controls dialog box was migrated from AtuoCAD 2008. I'm just not sure what setting and how to change it back.

    One more try before i give up, go to ACAD.PGP make a shortcut

    XR  = EXTERNALREFERENCES

    reboot autocad.

    I checked the ACAD.PGP file and it was already set to X= externalreferences I was reading on the help menu of Autocad and found out that the new pelletes don't work if the system variable sdi or single document interface is set to something other than 0. I changed the SDI mode to 0 then tried it and it worked my xref pallete is the new one but for some reason when i tried using the image pallete still brings up the old xref dialog box. the main x-ref i was looking for works so even if the image one doesn't that's ok.
