crosshair disappears behind raster image

I recently switch from autocad 2009 to 2011. Ever since installing 2011 when I import a raster image into my drawing the crosshairs disappear behind the image. The raster image has a white background and my crosshair is set to white. Before installing 2011 when I move the crosshairs over the image the crosshairs would change to black so you could see it. I never had this problem with 2009. There are several people in my office that are using 2011 and they don't have this problem, so it makes me think it's a setting. I've searched online with not much success. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?

Nevermind I figured it out. Below is what I did to fix the problem.

AutoCAD -> Options -> System -> Performance Settings -> Manual Tune -> Enable Hardwere acceleration : Uncheck
