I have several large group of lines on different layers that I want to get a total length of each group. I can highlight them all and use the list command but then I have to go through the text box and write down each line length and then add them up hoping I don't miss one. Not to mention it's going to take a while because of the number of lines that I have.
Is there a way to just have autocad add up a group of lines and give a total line length summation or get it from the particular layer?

Another option is to use the DataExtraction command.
It does take a minute or so to initially set it up, but the advantage is that the total is updated automatically if any of the lines are modified, or new lines are added.
