Text ignores cursor position

I'm using a TrueType font called Narkisim in my title block.  Sometimes, when I type in some text, the characters appear somewhere other than where the cursor is.  For example, if I type "123 Elm St." what appears on screen is "_123Elm St." with the space at the beginning of the text string instead of after the "3."  If I look in the quick properties box the text reads correctly.

It doesn't happen with other fonts, only this one.  Anyone have this happen, and how do I fix it?

This is Autocad LT 2010 running on Windows 7.

You answered your own question: by chance is this font getting substituted in AutoCAD? Is the font a TTF or OpenType?
