My AutoCAD 2012 program runs real slow. It take 10 mins. to open any of my drawings, no matter what the size it is and as of right now, it is taking 8 mins just to group plot 4 drawings. I download the program from the internet. Would tht be the reason why it isrunning slow? Should I remove the program from my computer and re-install it using the disk? would that make it run faster?

have you loaded your DWG from network? If so, copy the DWG first to your local drive and try it then again, if that also runs slow, you can disconnect your pc from the network (if you don't have a network-license) and again: start AutoCAD and load this drawing.
Another info may help: what process is it, that runs 10min at high level?

Yes i am getting my drawings from a network. I also saved the drawings to my desktop and i am having the same issues. The 10 min delay is when i open a new drawings. AutoCAD start up is good but when opening a drawing package from either the network or my desktop it takes roughly 10 mins to open the drawing package. i can have no other programs running and it still has the same issues when opening a drawing package. i even added more memory to my computer. All other programs i have to run during the work day runs great, AutoCAD is the only program that is giving me a hard time.
do you have the chance to disconnect your pc from the network?
What does the Windows TaskManager say about the ACAD.EXE process? Does it use as much power as one kernel of your CPU can give or is AutoCAD running at somthing < 5% and just waiting for anything else?
May be you have a process called like WSCOMMCNT* ==> is that running with more power than AutoCAD itself?
And one question I forgot in my first message: Have you just installed AutoCAD and it's slow since it's installed or was AutoCAD running well and started now to be slow?

Yes i did diconnect from the network and tried running the program and it is acting the same slow speed as before. AutoCAD with a drawing open is running at 1,028,680K and that other program you mentioned "WSCommCntr3.exe" is running at 15,616K. And i have had AutoCAD 2012 for over 2 months and it has been like this since the day i got it.
>> "WSCommCntr3.exe" is running at 15,616K
Sorry, not the memory is what I'm asking for, it's the process power it's using.
And another option: sometimes people here wrote that there virus-scanner was scanning through the DWGs while they are opened. Could that be also valid for you?

The CPU section all says 00. And when i had AutoCAD 2008 prior to loading 2012, i never had this problem. only since i loaded 2012 and no i dont have a virus scanner running thru the drawings
