Slice the Cake

Hi,

I'm looking for a tool that will enable me to "slice the cake" of data. For example, in my drawing I have a) objects in model space and b) lots of xref's. I'd like to be able to create a boundary rectangle and use it to slice this data and produce a subset of everything involved. The end product here would be a stand-alone block or DWG that I could email to a contractor, vendor, etc., without including all of the data that exists outside of this rectangle. Thus, this tool would allow me to slice the cake and send that slice on to whomever needs it.

Does anyone know of a tool or process that can accomplish this?

Use EXPORTLAYOUT command from PS.  Have a viewport with your slice showing, run command...

If something I wrote can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, I meant the other one.
