Removing hatch lines

I got a 12 story floor plan that I must set up for MEP and the architect has the hatch lines on the same layer as the walls, and I really need to remove those hatch lines.  Does anybody know anyway that would be more efficient than deleting???

QSELECT
or FILTER
allow you to sort selection sets as you describe before deleting them.

And with either of those commands I can remove or isolate the hatching from the walls?

Are they hatches, or just lines?

I'd create new layers for the hatches objects and use QSELECT or SELECTSIMILAR to select them, then change their layer.
