After publishing, the printer icon shows the job is spooling, when i hover over it, it says "publish job in progress". And never changes. The sheet set works fine in 2011. I have tried recreating, updating dwt files, multiple setups, tried using the dialogue box and publish override. Nothing is working.
I tried this and while it works, its not right. my backgroundplot value is 2 and it should work with that value.
The whole point of sheetset publishing is so you can publish in the background while your working, not sit and wait for 50 drawings to open and print.
So dido for the original question, any ideas why this is not working?? I have the same problem, icon in the bottom left only ever indicates "publishing in progress" and one staff member left it and said it eventually printered 2 hours later. It appears only to be in 2012 as i went back to 2011 and its almost instant.... thanks in advance for any help!
I am having the same problem. With the publish in background box tick, it won't go past 'publish job in progress'.
I have tried everything to get this to work but no luck. Quite a pain when you have to print a 73 page job.
Has anyone found a solution or is this just a bug in 2012 ???
A bug?! thats a pretty big bug autodesk better patch quickly, we are using 2011 in the meantime to publish big jobs. I have this occuring on duplicate machines for various jobs.
Yes we have tried it on multiple machines, running Windows 7 32 & 64 bit plus older machines with Vista but the same results. The only way to get things printing is to take off the tick 'publish in background' then it all works fine !!!
Did a few tests and came up with what works here. Always used Publish dialog box. Both pdf.pc3 and local-networked-printer.pc3. BACKGROUNDPLOT=3, PUBLISHCOLLATE=1
When Plot in Background is unchecked in dialog box it changes the BACKGROUNDPLOT sysvar to 1 and plots in foreground not background.
That's normal behaviour though. The sys.var can be changed through command line or through options. The problem isnt the foreground printing, its the background printing for publishing. Changing the system variables so that you can publish in the foreground is not a fix. its simply an alternative around something that appears to be broken. Comment from Autodesk would be nice...
