Can someone explain what's going on here? As I mentioned in my post yesterday, the issue that I and several others are trying to resolve - "objects are unselected when panning in a locked paperspace viewport" - first had its posting bounced over to the "ACAD Architecture" discussion forum (where it still resides) and my message commenting on this (yesterday's posting) appears now to have been removed! I will comment on this once again...........why was this original posting moved to "Architecture" when NO ONE in that original posting mentioned anything about AutoCAD Architecture? We (I think I speak for everyone involved....correct me if I'm wrong) would like our voices to be heard in the forum where it is most likely to result in some kind of attention and, conceivably, a resolution? If this problem also is experienced by Architecture users, then by all means, post the message there as well, but please don't delete it from this forum.
Panning unselecting is another of many issues we also have. It's very random. Can find no common conditions.
Autodesk needs to stop adding socalled new features and FIX the many outstanding issues!
Yeah, funny you should mention its random behavior. This morning for no apparent reason the deselecting when panning went away and the locked viewport behaved as I have come to expect, but who knows when it will start acting up again. I hope we receive some new comments from other posters and this message aggregates into a massive juggernaut that Autodesk CANNOT ignore!
Does this issue happen with new drawings created from scratch as well or only with existing files?
How were these files created and edited? - Product, version, third-party applications...
There is a similar post here, but the originator did not post the file.
Could you please post a file so that we can have a look?
If you delete all the hatches does the issue persist?
Product Support Specialist
Yes, same thing. When I go to model space and use QSELECT to select all hatches and then delete them, the issue is gone.
How was this file created and edited?
Please inform the Autodesk product versions, any third-party apllications, etc.
Did you manually create these hatches? Did you use custom .PAT files?
I managed to find the hatches that were causing the issue in your file, they were in the objects that are not parallel to the UCS shown when the drawing is opened.
Note that the file had 14 errors that were fixed with Recover.
I deleted the hatches (30 in total, not sure if all were affecting it) that were causing the issue, the file is attached.
I will look into your file in more detail later on, but hopefully this sheds some light.
How were these objects created, the ones that you can see in the South view?
Our developers are working on this issue which seems to be related to dense hatches in the drawing.
Thank you for your patience on this matter.
