PLEASE HELP URGENT!

When i open an auto cad file i get this message : There was a problem sending a command to the program then when it opens i can see the layers in the layer properties manager but can't see the plans!! BUT i can see them in the preview box from the automatic backup or on the desktop icon see the images please PLEASE I NEED HELP ASAP!!!!

welcome @forums.autodesk.com!

 

First of all please make a copy of your BAK file!

If you need the drawing repaired then the fastest option is to upload the DWG file and the BAK file.

A preview does not necessarily mean it's geometry in the drawing as the preview may have been created at another time.

 

You might also try to run command _RECOVER (or if XRefs are included run command _RECOVERALL).

Change to modelspace.

Next step is to verify all layers are on and thawed.

Then run command _ZOOM _EXTENTS in modelspace.

if you again see nothing make sure your property window is active (<CTRL><1>) and press <CTRL><A> to select all objects ==> what does the property window show now (how many objects does it see as selected.
