# Lofting/3D Extruding with Guides Problem

Hi,

Here I have two views of my structure that I'm trying to LOFT/Extrude,
but with the guides I've drawn.

Objective:
To LOFT the circles together (or extrude them) with the polyline as a guide,
and I assume the effect of the guide would be on all sides (ie 360 degrees around the circle would exhibit the same guide effect)

Problem
For some reason I can LOFT, but I can't use the POLYLINE as a guide, like it says "it's invalid"

I'm trying to make the shape of a cartoon POO (crap)...

For some reason the pictures I've posted didn't show up.

Why Loft or Extrude? Shouln't you be using Sweep or Revolve

So far I appreaciate your help guys.

Yes Revolve/Sweep would do the trick in my case,

but it wouldn't if I wanna vary the shape in the RADIAL direction.

Thus I'd still like to have a guide/path in the radial direction.

However, AutoCAD has some limitations regarding the path/guide being used for LOFT.

And I am using 3D POLYLINE

Hoping to see some more comments!

umm ... try to attach a dwg .. it will help alot ..

the common problems i've faced with loft are not that much ..

- guiding curve doesn't touch cross section ..

- guiding curve contains more than a single segment between two cross sections ..

- and sometimes for sure Autocad itself is not in the mood to model your object !! (u might need to use some cuddling then )
