I had an issue using 3D 2010. In my drawing I had a layer for my windows. My windows were nicely put together and design on the window layer. Next thing that happens I turn on my drawing today to come and find my windows are now saved on my viewport layer and the viewport layer took the properties of my window layer. Now last night when I plotted out the drawing I made viewports on a layer for viewports and that was the last layer I had used so it was current. What I want to know is why the hell did the layer dominate my window layer with taking the properties of my window layer. I did not merge them!
Is this problem occurring on a consistent basis or was this a onetime occurrence? Are you using vanilla AutoCAD 2010?
This problem only happed once. I have never seen this happen before in all my 5 years of using autocad. I do have lots of performance issues based on poor quality hardware in the office. I am guessing it could have been an factor in causing the problem. Vanilla autocad 2010 is what im using.
Please let me know if you hear anything about this ever happening to anyone else. I thought it was a strange thing to see happen.
Thanks for that update, I've not heard of this problem happening nor have I found any similar incidents. If it does happen on a consistent basis you should let Product Support know about the problem through the Autodesk Subscription Support link.
