GPS to DXF

Seriously, can anyone tell me how I can convert the information from a Garmin GPS unit into AutoCAD?  It seems like it should be easier than this.  I don't want to buy GIS or other programs.  I know there must be a simple way to do this?  Thank you!

What type of files can your Garmin export?

See your other post: if your Garmin did not come with conversion software to output to DXF or DWG you are very much out of luck.
If your GPS came with software that can output data points then you need AutoCAD Civil 3D or MAP 3D to move it along further.

What you want only depends on what else you have to facilitate the translation.

GPX v1.1, GDB, CSV Text, KML 2.2, TCX v2, and Tabbed Text are the options.

There are lots of tips on importing points from a CSV file into AutoCAD: https://www.google.com/#q=csv+and+autocad

Explore.

Bearing in mind that the exported data is going to be in lat-long, you'll need to convert it to a plane coordinate system if you want the distances and locations to be very meaningful,  CORPSCON is a free tool from USACOE that you can use to convert lat-long to a state plane or other useful coordinate system.
