Control of Annotative Text when seclected and moved

Can anybody explain why this annotative text jumps to a larger grey font when selected.  It make it tricky and problematic to move around the screen.

Can this be turned off when moving the text around the screen?

Many thanks

Hi,

this text is annotative and you (or the creator of the text) has assigned multiple scales to the text. So the text-object knows, in which scale to show and in which not.

When you now select the text, it shows you (greyed) the text in all configured scales, that gives two advantages: one is that you know it is scale-depending, the other is you can see where and how much space is the text-object needing when plotting in the different scales.

If you don't want the highlighting of all scales for the object that you selected, you can turn off the sysvar SELECTIONANNODISPLAY (details look >>>here<<<).

Brilliant that worked a treat - many thanks.

I knew that it was due to having several annotative text scale but I could not work out how to turn it off.

Thanks for prompt response.
