Can't select or pick on an object on a solid

Good morning. I'm a user or Autocad 2012.

A friend sent me a drawing in which if I try to pick or select an object that is on or behind a solid, the whole solid is selected no matter if I place de cursor on the object or a void space.

The same thing happens if there is no object on or behind the solid because if I merely pick on the space occupied by the solid it gets picked.

I guess it must be some variable set on but I don't know which.

Can somebody please tell me what to do?

Thanks.

Hi,

on one side it depends in the visual style you have made active

And as an additional help you can turn on SELECTIONCYCLING (>>>details<<<).

Thanks for the attention...

The problem was actually that I had 3D Wireframe as shademode. I changed it to 2D and problem solved.

Thanks.
