Bold text when dwg is inserted as an xref

Hello all!

I have dwg files with Calibri font (our standard font style) that I am trying to xref into one drawing (a bunch of detail dwgs essentially). The detail looks fine in its own dwg - but when I xref the dwg into another dwg some text elements appear bold. I've check ALL of my font styles - nothing is selected to "bold"... I scale the x,y and z to the same scale. I can't fathom what else could control/effect this!?!?!

Appreciate any help...

::pulling hair out::

Thanks,

Christina

Christina

Z Values other than Zero usually cause this.

Expand the Units to as many decimal places as you can then look at the Z Value.

This can be infintessimal.

Also, physically type 0.000 for the Z value. It may be so small that it does not show up in the Value.

Thanks for the reply!

That did not clear up the issue though... 😞

Check the Z location of the text objects themselves.

i've seen this issue using truetype fonts.

Even if the text is at z=0, Forcing the text to a non-zero elevation and back again to zero seems to make it regen properly.

Yea... I thought that using true type fonts would be easier for us - but instead it still causes some headaches. In general though - I do like using them.

Hi Yunlena, how did you manage to sort this again?  My x-refs show bold text and it looks really ugly.  Please help me resolve.  Seems to happen often when dealing with site plans.  Thanks
