We have been fighting ACAD 2012 freezing during launch. Very sporadically. Finally figured out it was the wscommcntr3.exe (InfoCenter) not closing when ACAD was shut down. I found that there is a similar issue with 2011 products. I also found information on how to turn InfoCenter off through registry setting changes, but this is not very desirable. Is there a HotFix to correct this issue.
Thanks
Ray C.
Here is a link to the available Service Packs and "Fixes" for 2012:

Since AutoCAD is currently at 2014 versions, it's not likely there will be any additional "Fixes" for 2011 or 2012.
question for the OP: What is undesirable about killing the Infocenter completely? What value do you find in it, or what beneficial purpose does it serve in your operation?
