AutoCAD 2010/2011/2012 DWG Format

Everything was just fine with 2012 until today.  I wasnt doing anything different but all of a sudden everytime i pick a line or pick text or just pick on anything i have to wait about 5 seconds before things respond.  its driving me crazy.  I was searching the posts earlier and found some helpful things like disabeling the service content and some other things but nothing has made a difference.

what is wrong?

im running a brand new dell xps 9100 (win 7) with 12 GB ram, super graphics card, i just dont understand what the problem is, especially since everything was fine yesterday.

have you tried that in just one drawing or does that occure also in new drawings with one just one line also?

And these ideas often mentioned for performance-problems while moving cursor:

Sysvars ROLLOVERTIPS or SELECTIONCYCLING, if it interupts respondig when clicking an object while AutoCAD asks for a point you also can try to (temporary) deactivate the object-snap.

Do you have Service Pack 1 installed?; this might be fixed with the SP1.

Are there xrefs in your drawing?  This is one of the known problems that was fixed in SP1.

thankss for all the responses, but after restarting my computer and autocad a couple of times, the problem went away. but i now have more info. from the suggestions you all gave.
