I have autocad 2012 and it began crashing on a daily basis a few weeks ago. Yesterday the problem worsened when cad began crashing windows as well. It seems to happen when I'm either editing a hatch or saving a file. I'm running 64 bit cad using Windows 7 on an Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @3.4GHz with 8gb of RAM.

Hi,
when AutoCAD crashes you normally get a message, have you a screenshot of that and can you upload it?

So you get a blue-screen? That points me to more driver- or hardware-specific problems. Check your drivers (display, mouse, network, printer, ...) for beeing up to date. Try to disconnect from network for a while, disable av-software and test a day or so if the problem persists.
Also for a blue-screen you get a device-name or at least a file that crashed reported, what is it's name?

I was saving files in an earlier version of cad. I stopped doing that and haven't had the problem again. Hopefully that fixed it.
