I have a question in an 2011 autocad book that ask

when can you erase an .ac$ file?

any ideals?

After all AutoCAD programs in your office are closed and no one has any of the DWG files open: these are temp files created by AutoCAD when a DWG file is open (or left over if AutoCAD crashes).
