AutoCAD 2010/2011/2012 DWG Format

Win 7 64 bit, AC 2012 full ver.

Whenever I have 2 dwgs open, coping from one to another, when I close the file I no longer need, AC gets a fatal error and crashes.

Do I need to reinstall, or is there a fix for this?

Hi John,

It's difficult to give you an answer based on that information. From what you are describing it sounds drawing specific. If it is drawing specific try the maintenance procedures described in TS18809891.

Let us know how that works or if we need to look at this from another angle.

I normally frequent the AC Electrical forum but I am here to ask a question and saw this thread.   This is a common occurance with AC Electrical.   It will happen often if I close drawings with the CLOSE ALL command. 

If I close the drawings one at a time the problem is almost reduced.

Ifeel the cross hairs are returned before the file is fully saved but I waitfor the disk to stop accessing before I go to the next task.

Do the Ac support folks talk to the ACE support folks?  I hope so.

I will start a new threas for my question.

Thanks for that feedback. It does appear that this is more of a core AutoCAD issue for which I do not have an answer at this time. I am submitting feedback about this problem to the development team.

I ran System Mechanic, which found a boat load of registry issues, and fixed them all (supposedly). Now it seems to be down to 1 or 2 fatal errors a day.
