Workaround for vp override?

I am still unable to assign a viewport color override to a 3D solid xreffed into the current drawing. Is there a fix yet? The override color shows in the vieport but when executing a "hide" or plotting the object reverts to it's original color. It would seem to be a large enough "bug" to warrant a hotfix

Hi,
>> but when executing a "hide" or plotting the object reverts to it's original color.
If you use another visual style than 2D-wireframe or legacy-hidden the rendering of the viewport runs in true-color-mode and true color can't be overridden.
So check the setting for the visual-style for the viewport + verify that the viewport is plottet as visualized and not in any other style (or you set this property to legacy-hidden).

Yes, Vp set to 2d wireframe w/ legacy hidden for plotting. I know it is a bug already, I was just hoping there is a fix available. It seems like it's still an issue. I tested in 2013 and it still happens there too. Keeping fingers crossed for a fix....

All you need to do is create a drawing with two solids on separate layers. Xref that file into another drawing, setup a viewport and apply a vp color override to one of the solids. The display looks correct but if you issue a hide command or plot, the object reverts to it's original color.

Hi,
you are right, I can reproduce it (with 2012 output to DWF and PDF) ... and ... at the moment I don't find a workaround.
Have you sent it already to your support-center so Autodesk get's notified about it?
But I can not reproduce the problem with 2013. With AutoCAD 2013 it works as it should. See my drawings plus the PDF-output attached.
Sorry, - alfred -

I have not sent it in to support. I had tried on 2013 as well with no luck. I'll have to revisit my effort.

Hi dmmeehan,
I tested this in both 2012/2013 and may have found a workaround for 2012, which appears to work.
In AutoCAD 2013, I could not reproduce this as Alfred already mentioned it.
In 2012, I was able to plot to PDF with the assigned VP overwrites, by setting the shade plot to Wireframe rather the Hidden. See the results to this here. - http://screencast.com/t/2orBUg8KyGvT
Also see the files enclosed.
Hope this helps.

To plot it not hidden (as you showed by switching to wireframe for the right viewport) is imho no workaround for a hidden-plot-question/-issue.
