Or what would be nice would be if they merged AutoCAD with Inventor
Because I'm in a state of SEVERE DEPRESSION right now because I've just started working for a company that does all modelling in plain AutoCAD using dumb solids (no Inventor) and they're not prepared to use it because they're afraid of change.
I think if AutoCAD could at least open and insert native Inventor models it would make my task of convincing them to use Inventor easier.
Maybe you should give Inventor Fusion a try... it is part of AutoCAD 2012:

I haven't used Fusion very much but from what I've seen I don't think it can create large assembly's of 3D parts, piping runs or frame generator models?
Forget Fusion. (at least until you are a MCAD Pro) (not that it is hard to use - the problem is it is too easy to create garbage)
It should have been a permanent Technology Preview and never a released product.
