Hi, I hope somebody can help me.
I have been getting the above error on boot up whenever I try and run AutoCAD 2011, Inventor 2011 and DWG True View 2011.
The software will run if I go past the error but it is very slow and has real problems when I try and open new drawings.
I am using a Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1LR with Windows 7 Professional Bit. With 4GB Ram
My college has a very similar machine with 2GB of Ram and he's runs fine.
After scouring the internet I got the impression this was an issue caused by AutoCAD clashing with some other software I have on my machine. So I started to disable stuff one by one to see what happened.
I found that AutoCAD will run fine if I disabled my display driver, and it also runs OK in safe mode.
I have also tried installing Delcams Powershape E and that also bombs out during boot up.
I have attached an image of the error box I get when I boot up AutoCAD, it appears twice.
Many Thanks in advance.

Hi,
>> I found that AutoCAD will run fine if I disabled my display driver
For me that sounds like "you already found your source of problem" .... so why the question here? Get a display-driver that works.
You can look to >>>this<<< site for a list of supported gc's, if your card (which one is it?) is not listed try a newer one, it that also does not work try an older one.

The card is on board on the laptop so there isnt much I can do. I have tried updating the driver but I have the most up to date version.

Hi,
let me guess, your gc is an Intel-like?
And just another question: you have tried playing with the setting of hardware-acceleration? Look to command _3DCONFIG ==> "Manual tune".

The on-chip graphics hardware in the second gen Intel processors is good for movies and office productivity software, not so good for AutoCAD and other programs which are designed with "real" video hardware in mind. Kind of like the old Quadro NVS cards, in that respect. Have you tried disabling hardware accelleration in the affected programs?

Yes it is an Intel Core i3 with HD graphics.
I have tried changing the hardware acceleration as suggested by Alfred but when I go to the 3DCONFIG/manual tune menu the hardware acceleration tick box is greyed out, so it wont let me change it.
Just a thought do you think I could run this in a virtual machine such as XP mode?
I am not a heavy user of AutoCAD and this would suffice if need be.

Hi,
Which driver did you download because I've the same problem.
When I start AutoCAD it gives me 2 times the warning: Unhandled Exception C0000005 (Access Violation Reading 0x0144) at address 69CAF5BFh.
It's a Toshiba Satellite C660-2RC
Processor: Intel i3 with HD Graphics 3000
I've tried to install an old driver of the HD Graphics, but it would not install..
Please help me.
Greatz,
Dominique

Hi, Its been a while and I cant remember where I got the driver from in the end. I have been through my downloads folder and found 2 possible drivers, Iv tied attaching them but it didnt accept them. They are called "Win7Vista_64_15221" & "Win7Vista_15215". Maybe you could google them, or better still if I could have your email address I could send them to you.
