Last week I downloaded the Autodesk Design Review and for some reason I installed the DWG TrueView as well. Now, everytime I open up a .dwg thru explorer, TrueView overrules AutoCAD and thinks it has to be the one to open the file. Is there any way to turn this program off?...Or would uninstalling it resolve the issue?
Solved! Go to Solution.
by default a double click onto a DWG-file within the Windows explorer should start that application, that was started previously and has DWG as save-format.
So if you start AutoCAD, do any save and then quit AutoCAD the next double click onto a DWG should start AutoCAD. If that is not happening on your system I would look into the explorer-options for the extension ==> which application is assigned to the DWG-extension: TrueView or AcLauncher.exe (second should be the correct one).
You can also reassign it by right-click onto the DWG ==> "Open with" ==> "choose application" and now you can assign the "AutoCAD DWG Launcher" or, if you always want to have a specific version of AutoCAD opened you can also select the ACAD.EXE (hopefully the words are correct for your english os, I'm running the german one).

How do the look like now? (just to see if it is now correct or it was previously correct)
