We are having significant problems with true type fonts (Arial) and their poor display and printing (especially to dwf) when placed with a Z-value other than 0.
Resetting text to Z=0 fixes it but it is really annoying (read time wasting) having to do this. Multileaders are however even more problematic. They take on the Z-value of the object snapped to and are not easy to move to Z=0, impossible if you want to maintain association with the object.
This problem appears to have been around for a long time and unaddressed by Autodesk. With Autodesk moving to greater 3D capability I believe this problem is long overdue for a fix.
We are reluctant to go back to an .shx font as we need to maintain visual fidelity with other packages (Revit) and all our company documentation (Word etc) is also done with Arial.
Is there a fix for this long standing problem we are not aware of ? - if not, we desperatly need one.

You might want to try CHZ20 which changes all text elevations to 0 by hitting Enter twice.

This app did not appear to work on Mtext or multileaders - just linework.
We need to keep linework as modeled - especially in Civil3D projects.

Look at Options - Drafting - Object Snap options - is "Replace Z value
with current elevation" any help?

If you don't want or need Z ot be anything other than zero, hit F1 and explore OSNAPZ and TREEDEPTH....
I hope my info was useful, but if by some odd chance it actually solved your issue, feel free to mark your post as "Accept as Solution". Thanks!

Thanks George - that over comes the multileader issue while still maintaining the association – great.
I still feel though that this is a bug that Autodesk need to address – having to come up with workarounds to overcome a graphics issue that should not exist in the first place is not very productive.
Have a good Christmas.
Good to see you and CD-CAD are still going. Cheers.

I find it very sad that this is still an issue in ACAD 2013 .....
I just down loaded the CHZ20 app. It works great, thank you CAD KITS!
Still wondering why this hasn't been fixed.. how hard could it be!
