Hi all,
I have an issue with Sheet Set Manager Locking the .dst file to one user, others can only open the file read only.
I am working on a network that uses Linux.
I have been using sheetset manager for several years and think its great but this causes a problem on large projects that need to have multiple users.
I have sifted through a number of forums on the above topic but can never find anything definitive.
The below is an interesting link that i have recently become aware of but it doesnt say whether this fixed the issue or not.
http://samba.2283325.n4.nabble.com/Samba-with-Auto
I have this problem logged with Autodesk but I have not got anything definitive. Its obviously a known bug/issue due the forums floating around but as for a fix . . . . . .
Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheer,
Frosty

Further to this i have found a work around. I can put my .dst file on my PCs C: drive and share the folder across the network that way . . . . . . not ideal as file doesnt get backed up and my PC needs to be on.

I have been using Linux (samba) for CAD files now since 2003, with no problems. That is until last week. I am having issues with CentOS 6.2 running samba 3.5.10-114.
The sheetsets become locked for all but the file owner. This is the only person who is able to make changes.
Linux permissions for the DST file are 770, so any member of the same group shold be able to have full access to the DST file. If I use CHOWN on the linux server to change ownership of the DST, the new file owner can make changes, but nobody else

There is an official bug that's been open on 2012-03-29 at Samba's team about this problem:
Bug 8833 - Files of type DST are R/W only for file owner.
