AutoCAD 2010/2011/2012 DWG Format

We have a page setup that we use to generate PDF files.  If I open a drawing and use this setup to make my pdf it works fine.  But if I choose this file in SSM and say "Publish using Page Setup Override" and choose this same setup, I get an error message telling me that the file "Did Not Plot" because "Device not found".

Everyone in the office has this same trouble and it's with different projects (all were created using the same template).  All users are on Win7 Pro (64 bit) with Acad12 (Civil 3d 12 technically).

The page setup override is truly an override.  The source of the page setup override is the file you have specified in your SheetSet properties.  Open that file and try to plot using the page setup in that file.  I expect it will say that the device is not found.  Fix it (redefine the page setup once you get it to work properly in that file) and that should fix your problem.

Same DWG file, same page setup.  The ONLY difference is using SSM vs using the plot dialog.

If you did not "add" the page setup again after checking all of your settings (overwrite it) try that. That was the solution to an "invalid media configuration" issue that caused similar problems for me. The page setup only worked with the plot dialog in the current drawing until I re-saved it. I found that when the page setup was corrupt like this the setup name would be blank after selecting it from the list. After redefining it the name would display after it was selected. This may not be the fix for you but I think it's worth a shot. Sent from my iPhone

No joy.  Not a single dwg file will work with SSM "Publish using Page Setup Override" (when trying to generate a PDF).  We've got 4 people (all with Win7), each in multiple projects.  And NONE of us is able to do it from ANY dwg file.

I use sheet set publish using page setup override but not for PDFs. I plot to raster (Tiff), set the dpi that AutoCAD left off, then convert to PDF. Sounds hard but it is very easy. I've written extensively about how i do it in posts to this forum. Full size or half size perfectly to scale. Try to get just one tiff plot this way. If you can the problem is likely with the PDF device. Sent from my iPhone

Have you tried opening the actual file that the Sheet Set Manager is using as Coopdetat suggested in a prior reply and plotted successfully from it using the Page Setup in question? (Please see attached).

If above is yes, then try attaching a different file that contains the same page setup definition & see if that makes any difference.

Also are all of these machines able to find the exact .pc3 file as the one in the page setup definition of the Sheet set properties mapped page setup overrides file?

Specifically are they all mapped to the proper "plotters" folder in files tab of options under plotting?

 Yes.  As I said in the original message, I can open one sheet and plot to PDF using this same page setup and it works fine.  But if I attempt to use this same page setup to publish this exact same sheet, it fails.

 I've tried it with every project I've worked on in the three months that I've been here.  And I get the same results every time.  The other users in the office have all told me that they have the same issue.

 Yes.  The pc3 file is on the network and they ALL point to the same network location.

This morning, I changed the options on my machine so that my own personal folder (on my hard drive) would be at the top of the list (under Options>Files>Plotter Configuration) and copied the OOTB "DWG to PDF.pc3" file to this location.  I then created a new Page Setup that points at this pc3 file.  When I plot directly, it works fine--when I use SSM to publish this same sheet using this newly created Page Setup, it fails saying "Device Not Found".

Maybe try pushing that OOTB Dwg to Pdf.pc3 that works locally to the network & see if that makes any difference.

OOTB and Custom PC3 BOTH behave exactly the same way.  If I plot directly (meaning open a dwg file, type plot & choose the Page Setup), it works correctly.  If I use SSM to publish the dwg then it fails.
