AutoCAD 2010/2011/2012 DWG Format

Good morning, all.

I've never tried this in AutoCAD before, so that is why I've come to the experts here for help. I would like to create a simple rectangular area with a circle in its center. When this area is hatched, the circle is hollowed out. Furthermore, I'd like to have this to insert into a block for stretch action manipulation. Is this possible with AutoCAD 2010?

I have tried the Region command, but only for a few moments. And each time I tried, the command created two regions (the rectangle, and the circle). These remained separate to themselves; I could not figure out how to combine them, especially since the two elements do not intersect at any point.

Don't use region, use command _RECTANG for rectangle as polyline, then draw a circle and last but not least create the hatch.

Pardon me, sir, but I feel that you misunderstand what I am asking about.

I need to display a solidly filled rectangle area, and if the rectangle was a piece of paper, the circle would be a punched-out hole in its center. Wipeouts can do this, but only for linear polylines (no arcs). That is why I am asking about regions.

Dear Mr. Neswadba,

I took a look at your file. Thank you for it. I managed to get close to what you had before I began this thread. It appeared that I was not properly grabbing points & handling parameters when I dealt with the hatching. I have now accepted your thread as the solution, and you have my thanks.
