Print as DINA4 on HP Laserjet 9000 PS crashes

When trying to print as DIN A4 format on HP Laserjet Autocad crashes with the error box: "AutoCAD Application has stoppeed working"

The printer is a HP 9040 MFP, connected via network, Printer driver on the print server says: Model HP Laserjet 9000PS

Printing as DIN A3 on the same printer  - no problem. Printing to a PDF Writer - no problem.

Printing as DIN A4 on a HP Color Laserjet 5550HDN is also not a problem.

So I guess it could be a problem with specific HP models (?).

Is this a known bug. Does anyone here has similiar experience made? Any suggestions, e.g. using another driver, using specific printer settings?

Windows 7 by chance? A lot of HP plotting problems go away for many when they switch to using HP's Universal Driver. If all else fails, try that. You may have to install it locally too if your Server is not WinServer 208 R2.

Thanks for the quick reply to my post.

Yes, we're talking about Windows7, the printserver is Win2k8.

When checking the printers provided on our printserver, for most HP models HP Universal driver were used. Unfortunately I have no influence on the setup of the printserver and drivers.

The other workaround you mentioned to have the driver installed locally on the User's PC - I don't know how this should work, when the Printer is not connetced locally but only accessible via network.

My current workaround is to print it as PDF and then send it to the printer.

Installing a dirver locally to aim at a print-server is nothing new and built into every driver that meets Microsoft's approval (99.9% out there, 100% from HP): your devices have static IP addresses.
